✈️ First Turbojet Flight
 
A Gloster E.28/39 pioneer powered by Frank Whittle’s W.1 turbojet engine, successfully accomplished its historic first flight at RAF Cranwell. Flown by Gerry Sayer the aircraft took off at 1940 hours achieving a top speed of 370mph at 25,000ft completing a 17-minute flight.
